| Q. How do I listen to the programs? All of the programs are recorded on Compact Disc so you will need a CD player. A set of headphones is a good idea but not necessary. Pick a place where you can close your eyes and not be disturbed. I like listening in bed before I go to sleep but there are many other times and places that work well; during a plane flight, afternoon nap, on the beach, during a lunch break, and before getting out of bed in the morning, are just a few. Q. What is suggestion therapy? Suggestion Therapy is a combination of relaxation and self-hypnosis that imprints new beliefs to make permanent changes. It targets that part of the brain that easily manages six trillion functions at once ... the subconscious mind. I coined the term Suggestion Therapy in an effort to include many more people who have been misled by the "hype" of the stage hypnotist. This simple program guarantees dramatic life changes just by relaxing and listening 15 minutes daily to the positive self-nurturing suggestions. Working as a registered nurse and addiction counselor, I witnessed the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual problems that arose from addictive behaviors. You can now have the tools to develop a mind set that allows you to acquire whatever you want in your life. Q. Are there some people who just can't be hypnotized? Hypnosis is a natural relaxed state of mind. If you can sleep, you can be hypnotized. Q. How does hypnosis work? Hypnosis brings about change very quickly because it taps into that 90% of the mind that forms the basis for our unconscious choices. When your choices no longer serve you well… It is time for an easy, quick mental tune-up. Q. Will I be controlled by the hypnotist and lose my own self-will? You will never do anything in hypnosis that you wouldn't ordinarily do. You will always be able remember everything said and you will always be able to end the session for any reason if you choose. Q. What if I don't wake up? You will come out of the hypnotic sleep because the suggestion is given for you to awaken. If you fall asleep because you are so relaxed that you choose to go into a normal sleep pattern then you will awaken just as you always do following a period of sleep. I have never had anyone refuse to awaken following a session. Clients are however much more rested and relaxed when they come out of hypnosis. 20 minutes of hypnosis is the equivalent of two hours of deep sleep. Q. Should I be concerned about hypnosis conflicting with my religious beliefs? Hypnotherapy is conducted while the subject is in a natural relaxed state of mind. Just as with any other type of counseling this is another tool for trained professionals to use to help one express earthly love in healthier ways. Q. How does hypnotherapy differ from traditional therapy? Change occurs more rapidly through this type of therapy because the subject has allowed the critical part of their mind to ease up and the subconscious is encouraged to accept beneficial suggestions. That part of human nature that keeps one from going forward in life (often described as the critical parental voice) has to be quieted for real life-enhancing change to occur. One gives themselves permission to "be successful" or "lose weight" or "have healthy nurturing relationships" because that old self-defeating tape in their head has been erased or at least overshadowed by new self-empowerment. Q. Who can perform hypnosis? Only trained professionals can perform hypnosis (also called guided imagery). Hypnosis elicits change by relaxing your critical conscious mind, leaving your subconscious mind open to beneficial suggestions. Without exception, my clients report overwhelmingly positive results. Even one visit produces a powerful experience. |
